  mr. jones accounting of the development of his belief that he is jesus christ, is consistent with the known development of psychotic disorders.

  mr. jones describes a period of time where he felt that he had some greater purpose or was meant for something important although he was unable to really identify what that was.

  hello to all.

  i've been on this site for a couple of weeks now posting here and there but have not had the opportunity to read about many of the regular members and what led up to their leaving the wt.. i understand that some of you (i'm part of this club) may not be able to disclose many details and i can appreciate that.. i'd love to hear what was it that finally made you renounce what is and hopefully soon to be "was" the wt.. i truly look forward to having good discussions.. thank you to all for your kind participation.. .

  I said these words to an elder friend of mine while out in the ministry: "I dont want to get to 60 (i was 30s) and find it's just another cult!"

  well those words never left me and when the time was right I decided not to wait until I was 60 to find out and to to make damn sure what I was born into either was the truth or was not. I gave the JW religion every chance to prove itself to be "the truth", it failed repeatedly. I the gave the bible every chance to prove itself, it too failed repeatedly. The god of the gaps was nonexistent. I am now a happy atheist.

  The killer blow for me though was 607 being proven to be utter bollocks.

  i was thinking of doing a pop-in visit when they're doing their thing(what ever that might be).

  to just see what it is that lures and hooks people, like our son.

  Inactive for how long?

  as the title says: how long does it take to be inactive in fs before some elders comes knocking on the door?

  or calling or whatever... any experiences?

  how was it for you guys?

  As said 6 months is the magic threshold to achieve "inactive" status.

  My PO at the time tried to use the fact that I would be classed as inactive if I ddnt do any service in the next month as a guilt / threat mechanism to make me go in service. I wasnt ever going out again as I was well on my way to knowing the truth about "the truth".

  If you mean you are already inactive and are awaiting the elders to try and reactivate you then your mileage will vary depending on how many nazi elders you have. If you are still attending meetings and assemblies etc then yes, you can expect repeated efforts to "help" you. That is one good reason to stop attending, you fall off the radar.

  i've been a lurker for quite some time and enjoy the forum.

  i've reached a point in life where i don't argue ideologies anymore so i don't have much to say.

  i've been out for decades and believe i've been mostly de-cultabilized (if that's even a word).. my family is still in and i haven't had contact with them in years.
